About
Hey! i'm finally back to give tech review on something "of my favorite stuff" that i have been enjoyed for few years now....i've finally own several home build e-bikes!! Yay!! (which is why you don't see me spending new R/C models for several years now, lol!). Right now i decided to post tech review on bicycle stuff (which is also my favorite hobby, btw it has R/C elements right there) because this product i purchased from E-bike kitmanufacturer/company deserved to be complimented after years keeping their ear opens to my constant feedback after i blew up their tech products due to my "excessive man power"!.
If you've read previous article review i posted about E-bike that i've tested published in 2019 (Read here) i was determine to buy very own E-bike so i could easily commute to my workplace with less effort to "manually" pedal my bike because as i get close to my mid 40's age my aging muscles can't to sustain continuous 5 days per-week just to cycle back and forth bewteen home and office coupled with high speed traffic, steep hill climb and angry street dogs. In my mid 40's; the more i ride the more i easily get tired, overnight muscle aching, sleepless = insomnia and the interest to ride bikes the next day 'burned out' instantly....that's what you get when you're getting old. In my aging state the VO2 max factor on my overal legs muscle performance are reduced. Aging suck but i still love cycling! So i turned towards technology,,,,i must get an E-BIKE!!! However there's a problem; E-bikes are crazy expensive! Plus they are heavy and slow...also ugly too! Its very hard to find normal looking E-bikes back then with proper price and performance but corporate greed want's my money! The previous E-bike i reviewed back in 2019 was one of that top greedy brand but i'm not going to pay that little electric motor on two wheels for USD$5,000! That's a day light robbery on normal peasant wage right there. So the hunts for my perfect affordable E-bike continue while saving up my budget between 2019 to 2021.
Then year 2022 comes around (i saved up some budget thanks to COVID-19 lockdown pandemic)....finally found my long searched answer!; a 'QIROLL'.
After doing long research up and down through stream of online E-bike community via forum i've finally found a perfect way to get my very own E-bikes with less amount of budget; converting normal bicycle using E-bike add-on kits. There's lot of choices in the market to propel a bicycles though electric add-ons, among several electric kits i've decided to pick up is a 'QIROLL 320W Q-RE PRO' (friction drive) kit was a result after much discussion at Electric Bike Review forum (Click here). The main reason i'm going for this kit because its cheaper at just USD$449 for 320W roller motor unit complete with high capacity H70 battery, minimalist setup, lighter and most importantly it doesn't make a converted bicycle into bulky looking E-bike...it keep the bike looks traditional/normal. I can ride with and without electric in an instant. So i bought the kit from QIROLL website and chose the 320W Q-RE PRO thats come with 2x unit of type H70 33v 300WH battery pack to be installed on my old daily commuter road bike the white "MERIDA 901". The installation was a breeze and easy! Took me under 20 minutes to setup. First weeks riding to work on 320W E-bike kit on my trusty road bike make me feels young and powerful again, everyday is a fun day to cycle to work....it was that very day i started to loose interest driving my car to work. A month later i bought a BAFANG 750W mid drive E-bike kit with 52v 17.5Ah battery pack both cost twice than QIROLL package which i intended to installed on my GIANT TRANCE 3 full suspension mountain bike as a backup bicycle to work incase the later fail. So that year on 2022 i owned 2x DIY build E-bikes, then 2 years later added another one which ended having 3x E-bikes to present day. Guess which one lasts longer, reliable and my favorite 'go to bikes' at the end? Continue read on below to find out more!

The installation
The QIROLL QR-E PRO consist of 4 simple parts; the drive unit, battery, power cable and S-2 Switch cable. The installation Q-RE PRO unit was extremely easy to do; basically all you need is a small allen/hex key tool to secure 2x hex bolt with an adaptor to install the drive unit (QR-E PRO) into the bike frame and adjusting the clutch roller. Then connect the S-2 switch and power cable into the QR-E PRO connectio port. Lastly tidy up the long cabling with zip ties. All these installation necessities and tools are already included inside the package. Overall it takes less than 20 minutes to completely install QIROLL QR-E PRO unit on to any traditional bikes with standard rear chain stay. Best of all you don't have to do any major modification to the bikes like drilling holes ot physically alter the bike frame to accomodate E-bike kits. Another plus is that the QR-E PRO unit doesn't make your bike looks like typical bulky looking E-bike, it retains normal bicycle appearance because the small drive unit it tuck hidden below between the chain and seat stay and the battery itself looks like normal water bottle when view from moderate distance. The kits introduce very minimalist stealth looking e-bike with only +1.8kg weight penalty. This is my major reason i prefer the QR-E PRO than other type of E-bike kit on the market.
How does an Q-RE PRO E-bike kit works?
This kit is known as "Friction Drive" because it uses the use friction roller (with electric motor build inside) to rotate the rear wheel via contact with the tire rubbery surfaces which then rotates the wheel to move the bike forward. The advantage of this kind of drive is it cheaper, easy to install, lightweight, use less amount of power to push the bike. It can be easily remove/unclutch from the wheel to revert back to normal bicycle if you want to pedal your bike manually. On the Cons/disadvantage side because its a type of "roller" motor in contact with rear tires to spin the wheel it usually slips quite often especially in wet condition causing losing torque/acceleration especially climbing steep hills and also works only with non-knobby/slick flat tire surfaces which allow full contact with the wheel. Off-road tires with wide deep knobby tires found on mountain or gravel bikes does not work very well with this unit.
QIROLL QR-E PRO unit will give you "boosted" type of ride like riding a scooter or motor bike at linear speed. It offer both in relax ECO or BOOST/SPORT mode. Here's how to operate it;
-
To turn 'ON' the unit you have to plug the (yellow 3 pin) battery connector plug into battery port, the 4 LED blue light will lit up and after few seconds the QR-E PRO unit will turned on with red LED light appear on the unit as showing BOOST/SPORT mode default startup.
-
Start pedalling a bit to move the bike forward to allow QR-E PRO to start moving on its own. It will give minimal amount of assitance to move forward.
-
Press the S-2 switch 'SQUARE' button to start boosting/going into 'scooter' to move forward. You can cruise about without pedalling. The unit will cruise at about 35km/h to 38km/h depending on the bike size, weight, terrain and wind condition. You can still pedal the bike to add leverage/increase the speed momentarily.
-
*Optional: You can use the 'ROUND/CIRCLE' button to do 'Re-Generative Braking' (slowing down while charging around 200W back into the battery pack) and switching between BOOST/SPORT mode to ECO mode. ECO mode provide around 25km/h to 27km/h of cruise speed.
-
To stop the bike just use normal bicycle brake lever while at the same time release the 'SQUARE' button from the S-2 switch.
-
To turn 'OFF' simply unplug the power connector from the battery.
This is how i summarised how i used the QR-E PRO unit daily during my commute: "Press the throttle and go! If need extra speed i keep on pedalling."
However this unit does not operate like the pure P.A.S (Pedal Assist System) that can be found on "Mid Drive" or "Hub Drive" E-bike kit from poular brands like BAFANG, TONG SHENG, LUNA CYCLE, BOSH, YAMAHA, SPECIALIZED BROSE or SHIMANO STEP that increase assistance based the amount of pedalling effort the rider push on the peda because it doesn't have torque sensor that sense your leg movement. For the QIROLL QR-E PRO the operation is simple; just throttle forward like a scooter or motor bike independent of user pedalling input. Noted that the speed cruise of the bicycle generated by QR-E PRO is relative to the mass, wheel size, inertia and forward momentum generated by the bicycle, so different bike configuration may produced different results than other bike users. You can increase the speed 'momentarily' by pedalling faster and harder to leverage the existing speed generated by the QR-E PRO....the electric motor will try it best to push this extra speed until it return back to normal cruise top speed after gradually losing momentum. So you need to keep pedal to leverage top speed you want. Overall it still easier to ride on electric powered than on non-electric bike regardless with or without P.A.S system.
Essential: Must do DIY mods?
On the first day riding my bicycle with QR-E PRO installed i've started encounter a major issue with the rubbber friction roller tape that comes with the package. I found out that using rubber friction roller tape wasn't suitable for my 'athletic' riding style, definately not build for higher performance cyclist because of the following reasons:
-
The friction roller tape only suitable for riding at speed below 38KM/H at short burst. However pedalling at high speed above 40KM/H causes the friction tape to delaminate due to motor heating up started to transfer heat to the tape glue, peeling and ejected from the roller causing dangerous plastic debris to tangle/wedged between the tires and the roller itself. So the friction tape was not built to spin at extremely high speed coupled with strong pedalling input from user.
-
Even if it could handle high speed without detached from the roller it will worn out faster in less than 3 days after freshlly installed due to my overpowered pedalling input.
-
The supplied friction tape performed extremely poor in wet condition, it slips a lot when the tires are wet especially in the rain and soaky soil from road surfaces.
-
Even in dry condition the friction tape slips a lot during long hill climbing causing me to lose acceleration and torque power to the rear wheel.
If you followed me through our community discussion in this "Electric bike review community forum" (click here to read) i've have tried to many ways to find solution to fix this problem. Fortunately i found my fixes: using a '3M anti-slip floor sticking tape' or 'anti-skid grip tape for flooring'. This tape made from thin PVC base layered with an aggressive 80 grit aluminum oxide compound coated with an solid adhesive that looked like having surfaces of rough sand paper like texture but safer to be used on bicycle rubber tires. The tape have strong adhesive back sticker layer that can stick firmly on the roller. After sticking on the roller i used small amount Cyanoacrylate adhesive glue (super glue) to connect both side of the tape's cut inseam to avoid from peeling (You can watch how i do it via below youtube video). Then re-adjust the roller clutch to get a good full roller to tire contact until the tire unable to slip from the roller after manually try to slip it by hand. Now the roller should provide strong grip on the tire contact surfaces.
*If you wanted to know how '3M anti-slip floor sticking tape' or 'anti-skid grip tape for flooring'. looked like here is the link to the material:
https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/c/tapes/anti-slip-grip/
Here are my positive observation and experiences after using this new 'anti-slip/anti-skid floor grip tape' roller DIY solution:
-
Cruise throttle or boost provides strong torque, faster acceleration and easily achieve top speed because the roller doesn't slips. Full 100% power transfer to the wheel!
-
All weather traction; performed 100% full grip in wet rainy condition.
-
Easier to climb hills without power slipping in wet condition.
-
If riding with cruise speed below 44KM/H and with less amount of 'serious' pedalling from the rider the 'anti-slip/anti-skid floor grip tape' can lasts up to 6 months before needed to be replaced.
-
One roll of 'anti-slip/anti-skid floor grip tape' either from 3M brands or others types than can be found from any hardware store only costs between USD$2 to USD$3 per-roll and will lasts 10 cycles which is equivalent to 5 years of use if the bike to be ridden at normal safe speed.
-
Will the tire worn out by using this grip tape? The answer is No!...Yay! After riding using this grip tape for more than 2 years i've never notice any agressive wear or tear on the surface of the tires that have full contact with the roller running with 'anti-slip/anti-skid floor grip tape'. Although the surface of the grip tape almost as rough like sand paper its actual more mild and has minimal effect of rubbing wear in comparison to the wear the tire surface have to endure when it has to rub against normal road. Our urban road made from cemented bitumen tar road, gravel road, pebbles and sands have more abrasive surfaces that will worn out the tire more frequently than the DIY grip tape on the roller that we did above. So the grip tape has minuscule impact or almost little amount of wear on our bicycle tire in comparison to the roads it has to roll/rub over more often. My tire grip surfaces still looks like 'new' even after 2 years of rolling around.
Overall i've seen drastic improvement and huge amount of benefit using this type of grip tape. Infact other rival e-bike company that manufactured 'friction drive' roller system kit also uses rough sand paper like anti-skid surfaces on their product to be use on any bicyle tires. You can find lots of this kit on website such as 'Aliexpress.com' or other online e-bike kit site. Unfortunately at the time of writing this review QIROLL haven't introduce such use of this type of grip tape but instead stick to using rubber like friction just to play safe on consumer side. As for me using 'anti-slip/anti-skid floor grip tape' rocks!..and i'm going to continue using it!
The riding experience on QIROLL 320W Q-RE PRO + H70 33v 300WH battery.
I've been riding on QIROLL QR-E PRO for more than 2 years now. It makes my day riding bicycle to work a fun and exhilarating moment! Most importantly i never get tired, excessive sweating and still continously able to ride the next day while stay fresh early in the morning for the next 5 days in a week. That something any mid 40 year old cyclist couldn't do on daily basis especially if your trip distance is very long, travelling through fast busy traffic and have to endure lots of hillls. Last time before i had my E-bike; at the age of 40s the best i could do was 3 days in a week but endure sleepless night (insomina) because my whole body muscles was aching and tired after days of speeding down the road and climbing hills. To recuperate my body so i could relax a bit i have to drive my car to work thus have to endure back through heavy traffic, battle for parking sport, arrived late at home and grow some fat around my waist again. I had to remind myself i wasn't as fit as i we're back when i was 18 years old i was doing competitive bicycle racing for national team. After i got my QIROLL i felt like 18 years old back again! Am i cheating my way into cycling? Nope! All i want is to ride to work, putting food on the table and enjoy my bike!
My primary reason to use QIROLL QR-E PRO is to have an a electric equipped bicycle to help me commute back and forth between home and office without tiring my muscle and body on daily basis. . The first bike installed with this unit was my white 700c road bike; a "MERIDA 901". It was using the early version of QR-E PRO (version1) bought in mid 2022. The package cames with combo 2x unit of H70 33v 300WH battery pack. So i rode this bicycle between my home and office daily from Monday to Friday from morning till evening. Got exposed through many type of weather; hot dry sunny day, heavy rainy day and dusty hazy season. I owned a sedan car but i rather use bicycle to avoid congested traffic and battling for a parking spot at work place. It's faster to travel on a bicycle and i get a good exercise since i'm too lazy to do physical workout on weekends.
The first week on QR-E PRO i have to struggle with problem having friction tape ejected itself at high speed when going down hills, constant slipping power on wet roads and lose climbing torque. It was a terrible experience at first because in just few weeks i lost 3x set of friction tape due to peel and worn out, fortunately QIROLL support send me an extra replacement but still won't solved the existing problem. Because of the friction tape issue; it was that very moment i decided to buy a 750W mid drive BAFANG because it offer better pedalling assistance and won't have much issue slipping power all over places or problem climbing hills. The mid drive was installed on my GIANT TRANCE mountain bike...however after a month of riding i don't feel like i'm riding an actual bicycle to due being too heavy and less nimble. Fortunately the idea introducing DIY 'anti-slip/anti-skid floor grip tape' asdiscussed previously solved the mentioned issue and i'm back again riding on QR-E PRO a month later leaving behind my overweighted 750W mid drive e-bike. With the DIY friction tape solution, all the problem riding on QR-E PRO was solved and it was a perfect ride all year around. Like i've mention before how i ride my bike to work; "Press the throttle and go! If need extra speed i keep on pedalling." ..the Q-RE PRO was perfect commuting solution!...its fast! you can scooter around or anonymous pedal the bike....need more speed? Pedal fast a bit! I can still move my bikeswiftly through obstacles and tight traffic corner thanks for having lighter e-bike setup. Reaching home or office i never get extremely tired, feeling i want to ride more! At night i sleep like a log. The next morning wake up i felt like a new born!.....that's E-bike for ya! Did i get fat riding an E-bike? Nope! Ironically i loses lots of weight more than i pedal on manual/non-ebike...lost about 5kg. Yeah my pants a bit loose right. I'll show my bike to health performance graph below the page.
On my MERIDA 901 road bike equipped with QR-E PRO the average total weight of this setup is around 11kg, extremely light for an E-bike category. I have better confidence when doing high speed cornering on my 11kg in comparison to my overweighted 18kg 750W BAFANG mid drive mountain bike (GIANT TRANCE 3).
The way how i ride my bike on QR-E PRO is mostly i keep pressing/hold the throttle/boost (SQUARE button on S-2 switch) button all the way until i reach my destination with my 'middle' finger while the index finger keep standby resting on the brake lever. So basically i 'scootering'/throttling all the way while on several interval still keep on pedalling on several occasion to leverage up the speed. Without pedalling at rest i scoot at speed bewteen 35km/h~38km/h (depending on the head wind direction). If i put extra leverage by keep pedalling with just 50% effort i could get up to speed of 40km/h~44km/h. If i pedal with 90% effort i could easily hit 48km/h speed. I really like the speed! "Feels like riding on jet fighter!"..gotta enjoy that rush of wind flowing through my face at high speed!....it make me smile! The max speed currently the QR-E PRO can handle without stress up the unit is around 60km/h... that is when i speeding down the hill or drafting behind some truck (you can see those video from my Twitter/X.com account (Click here)). Pedalling up the hill is a bit of a struggle but not all that bad (above 20% hill gradient); although i've trigger the throttle/boost button it hardly move forward if you started below the hill. I have to keep pedalling at 60%~70% effort to start a hill climb, the Q-RE PRO will start gradually pickup a bit speed to give assistance but still better than 100% pedalling without electric motor.
*To summarized what exact feels like riding on Q-RE PRO:
If you ever try ride down the hill or got pushed by huge gust of wind from behind (tail wind) that is exactly how it felt like riding the QR-E PRO. It give you an immense amount of 'push' or 'boosted' speed to move you forward. Once you get moving you can scooter at fixed cruise speed. If you want extra more speed then put some more pedalling effort to increase the speed and the Q-RE PRO will assist to 'momentarily' to maintain the speed you want until you hit the brake to stop.
The QR-E PRO does have re-generative braking which can be use to recharge back about 200WH of power back to thebattery pack when pressing the 'circle' button on S-2 switch, however i never use it because sometimes i would accidentally switched from SPORT mode to ECO (slow) mode....i really hate that feature, it accidentally slow down my ride! Worse of all since the LED light Mode indicator located below the bicycle where the unit is placed its hard to know which mode i'm riding at. QIROLL should make separate button to activate Re-gen Braking and Mode switch, also they should placed the LED light MODE indicator on the S-2 switch so i can see which mode i'm at.
When it comes to QIROLL's H70 33v 300WH battery performance and life span i'm surprise it performed well even after 2 years of continous daily use. In contrast, my overprice heavy mid drive BAFANG 48v 14AH Hailong battery pack that went kaput after 3 month of daily use due to BMS failure which costs me almost twice than what H70 can offer me for a life time. H70 battery pack has 4x level of blue LED light indicator to indicate how much power consumed and left in the pack. My total riding mileage per-day is around 28km back and fro between home and workplace. It consumed approximately 75% of the battery capacity leaving just 1 blue LED bar lit indicating 25% power left. My ride consumed a lot of power through constantly holding the throttle/boost button from the start of the ride until i reached the destination with less amount of pedalling effort. I really pushed hard on the battery but surprised it still maintained good consistant power and capacity after 2 years of daily usage with minial amount of 'power sag' during the ride. To charge back the battery using the supplied 33v 2A charger it would take approximately between 3~4 hours. The charging adapter has LED light to indicate charging status; RED light means charging while GREEN lights means charging completed. Under my usage; after it hit GREEN light i usually leaving it charged for extra 1 hour to allow 'trickle charging'.
When it comes to maintenance there's nothing much other than changing my DIY 'anti-slip/anti-skid floor grip tape' on the roller if it started to wear out. Sometimes once a month and other times it could be 3 months later depending how much intense my ride went through. I have no problem cleaning a dirty QR-E PRO unit with a mild spray of water from garden water hose. I just leave it dry over night and i get back riding again the next morning. The QIROLL manufacturer didn't mention much about this unit being waterproof but having used for 2 years and keep 'moderate' blasting water on it i see no problem at all.....'touch wood'. However on 2nd unit replacement QR-E PRO (Version 2) in 2024 i've decided to seal the seam along the unit including the connection area with silicone rubber seal for extra waterproofing.
Does having E-bike setup worn out other parts? To my surprise before i own a QR-E PRO i had to replace 2x worn out chains and 1x rear cassette per- year because i ride quite hard and fast topping up 45km/h each session. After i've installed QR-E PRO in 2022 until now in 2024 i haven't worn out anything yet neither my rear tires although it runs on friction drive still able to hit top speed of 48km/h with just 50% amount of pedalling strength. I saved money from replacing worn out parts compared to conventional non E-bike setup. This is because since friction drive only put its spinning load stress between the roller and the tire surfaces so there is no load stress going through the bicycle gearing system (chain rings, chain and rear cassette). I constant check my chain health using chain tool to measure the amount of worn out every month, fortunately i predict i will have a year to go which is good enough.
Do i get proper healthy workout on friction roller type E-bike kit?
Yes! Although this unit is not a P.A.S system, riding on QIROLL QR-E PRO is almost like running on a 'treadmill workout' effect. Its like "the machine force you to keep up the pace". If you wanted to pedal you'll need to catch-up and sync with the speed the unit is pushing the bike. So your leg have to spin/cadence faster to get synchronize until you felt engaged with the rear wheel then you can start pedalling faster to increase the top speed above what QR-E PRO able to generate presently during the ride. Pedalling at high cadence although less load on my leg muscle, it caused heart rate to increase if i wanted to leverage the speed above QR-E PRO present speed. So i'm burning more calories though increase heart rate per-speed at the same time not adding to much stress to my leg muscle which reduce muscle injury and allow fast recovery overnight so i could continue riding the next day....thus 'good sleep' at night. With E-bike setup; this continous cycle of activity of body recovery allow me to cycle everyday without getting tired and burn-out thus meaning "i'm burning calories everyday" than stop riding to take a rest between interval of days like what weekends cyclist does
Below are the graph generated from my GALAXY WATCH 4 that sense GPS speed and my heart rate rythm as pedal through various peak speed, yup! that was an intense ride even with assisted on electric. (Click the graph to enlarged the image.)
The QIROLL manufacturer seems to be on the fence about whether if its waterproof or not, i assume they haven't encounter cyclist who really rides in wet condition yet until they found the guy who did it almost on daily basis....me. Because my hobby involve a lot working on high tech brushless motor on R/C models i have much understanding how it works and the limitation of these motor when runing in wet condition.
Why not ride a 'mid drive' E-bike kit since you owned it?
Here is what i found out after ridden my 750W mid drive for almost two year back and forth commuting between home and work place i notice theres several thing that i like and don't like as listed below:
What i like about mid drive:
-
PAS system (Pedal Assist System) = natural pedalling experience. I feel like bionic man with unlimited power!
-
Instant power and acceleration: Feels like Greek God when climbing any steep hills! Power!!
What i don't like:
-
Heavy! damn heavy setup! Good luck if you try to load your mid drive e-bike into any cars and load behind pickup truck. Not easy to carry by hand. Feel like a dump truck riding though traffic.
-
Consumed to much power per-throttle/scooter mode. Consume over 1200W just to do a scooter mode! I can see my battery voltage sagging!...easily shorten the battery lifespan. Killed my 48V battery pack and also reduce lifespan of my newly bought 52V pack.
-
Complicated installation: Too many parts and wiring to connect just to get it working.
-
Heavy maintenance, worn out and breaks down easily: Have lots of 'heavy duty' moving parts, lots of dirty greasy parts which i have to constanly service every interval (2x per-year) since i ride daily. Sometimes it takes 3 hours to complete the maintenance due to many bolts, screws and parts to dismantle about.
-
Bulk and ugly: I love my natural looking bicycle but today mid drive kit turns it into a heavy bulking looking motorcycle.
-
Short life span: Had to change my bicycle chain twice a year and also rear casette per-year. My 48v 14AH Hailong battery pack survived just 3 months due to malfunction BMS system and killed some li-on cell due to unbalanced charging.
-
Expensive parts replacement: The battery itself costs me a new bike!
-
If mid drive E-bike fail mid way riding along the road you're unable to pedal and can be tiring to push the bike due to weight (Happened in 2024 and decide to swap to QR-E PRO).
Unfortunately the 'Straw that broke the camel's back' happened on early May 2024 when my 750W BAFANG BBS02B mid drive unit on my 'Gravel Bike' failed due jammed motor stator leaving me stranded in the middle of the town as i was riding to work place. I couldn't pedal my bike because something jammed the crankset. Dragging my overweighted 17kg bike around the town was horrendous and tiring . Even trying to lift my bike up to put behind a pickup truck bed to transport my bike home was also a huge struggle on my muscles. At that very moment in my mind; "i wish i could ride back my ordinary bike". It was that very day that i force myself to purchase QIROLL Q-RE PRO (version 2) to replace the mid drive on my "BASASS SHOGUN" gravel bike. That was my "sayonara!" moment with 750W mid drive. What causes my 750W BAFANG mid drive to stop spining?.....a burned motor stator and some corrosion inside the mid drive case = game over!! The good news is now i have two bikes with Q-RE PRO unit. However i still love riding my 'mid drive' 750W BAFANG only during weekends for recreational activity such as climbing hills and off-roading but i avoid using it for daily ride to work to avoid complication. Plus its very tiring to pedal high speed on heavy bikes.

Electric bike review community forum (where i hang around): REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY
Summary: Do i feel happy with QR-E PRO?
Its been more than 2 years since my debut riding with 320W Q-RE PRO unit in 2022. Now in 2024 i owned 2x bicycle installed with latest version of QR-E PRO (version 2) unit all used for daily commute to workplace. There's a high probability i would be building a third bicycle using 320 Q-RE PRO on either 16" or 20" folding bike in the future focusing on compact mobility capable small e-bike that i can carry on bus, airplane and use anywhere in and out of the building. It will be my favorite companion. I'll have to wait until i gather some budget first, but excited to know i'm going to build interesting little electric bike that fits under the table soon.
Although i've owned powerful 750W mid drive P.A.S system E-bike which can actually offer more natural pedalling experience i only used it for weekends recreational cycling on clear road and off-roading. On busy working days i'd prefer the QIROLL QR-E PRO as my 'go to' everyday transportation to work place due to lower probability of failing/break down on the road, lighter bike setup, very nimble handling, easy to pedal through throttling (easy on my old legs) and fun to zig zag around heavy congested road traffic. Consequently i felt more healthy on my body, very good heart rate, loose lost of weight, enjoy good food to gain weight, lol! and sleep better at night without tired and pain around my body especially my leg muscle. Waking up in the morning was a blessing, felt refresh and ready to get back riding again. This is something you can't do if you're over 45 year old if you don't get must assistant from an E-bike. I realised the older you get you cannot put too much stress on our body, its easier to get injury than when you're in younger state. Chill! Relax! and Enjoy the ride!...embrace the Electric Revolution! Most importantly for me i'm able continuously enjoy my bicycle hobby through my age and had daily fun cruising on two wheels before and after stressful office hours.
I would like to say a great job to 'QIROLL' company for producing 'minimalist' size and reliable E-bike kit that is not only looked 'stealthy' but also keep the price affordable for us low income earner to finaly able to equipped our 'normal' standard looking bicycle into an electric bike without breaking the bank. Plus over 2 years they continue to provide good 'after sale' customer support & ervices especially through their support agant 'Mr. Jason' which communicate with him very often to handle technical support on my QR-E PRO unit and wiling to forward my feedbacks and suggestions to their engineers so they could improve their future products. Lastly surprised i manage to get a free replacement of QR-E PRO (version 2) after my 2 year old (version 1) unit suddenly stop working last months, now that's a true customer services right there! .........oh yeah far better than my local bike shop even though we're close biking friends, lol! Huge respect to QIROLL for everything they did for me, much appreciated! This is why i have to write this article to appreciate what they have done and as my token of thanks for their continous support & services. Hopefully they continue to improve and innovate their products so i could next time able to enjoy electric assisted bicycle in my deteriorating old age. E-Cycling is fun!
*Disclaimer:
- This article is not sponsored. These products i paid for with my own budget. I write review because it (QIROLL) deserved praise for creating E-bike product that helped solve my commuting problem and always there to provide the best customer support to keep my e-bike builds worthy.
- Not all of my setup follows QIROLL standard installation, i have to do some DIY to make it performed to my expectation. So if you use my setup ideas then doing it at your own risk.
