This place used to be the biggest and popular flying site for many local R/C flying model enthusiast. Originally was a light aircraft and helicopter runway for private and oil companies but long abandoned after the 90's. Was popular place for public recreational activities such as motorsports drag racing, paragliding, ultralight flights, serious R/C flying hobbyist and also fishing enthusiast due to large pond nearby. A well maintained runway have approximately usable length of 800 meter of solid surface with VLOS airspace size of approximately 800m x 300m good enough for any R/C flight models of different size and classes to roam around by visual. This place used to be our everyday place to fly all our flight models from morning till dawn were pilots all over both local and borders across come together to fly. Unfortunately between 2017 ~ 2018 this location was closed from public after taken over by commercial entity for further land development. Access to the site has been limited. Due overgrown greens and not well maintained surfaces the usable runway is now up to 640m and getting narrower. By 2021 the site condition have been deteriorate with floods, tides from the beaches and overgrown bushes. For those who've enjoyed this place for more than decades it is now remains relic of the past. However i'm glad i've enjoyed this place to the fullest since the early 2000. Which is why i've decided to create a virtual flying site of LUTONG old runway into PHOENIX R/C SIMULATOR to preserved our nostalgic legacy of our flying hobby for our local community.
