How to get more view angle in EVO 2 game

Did you ever notice that when you run 'replay' of your race you'll notice there are more camera view angle option available in 'replay mode' instead of normal view you always use during the race when you drive your car/truck.

Normal useable camera view angle available during game:

  • Front hood
  • Cockpit
  • Inertia
  • Blimp
  • Chase
  • Side window
  • Door cam

Camera view available in 'Replay mode'

  • Race cam <<------------------------------------------extra
  • Front suspension cam <<-------------------------extra
  • Rear suspension cam <<--------------------------extra
  • Rear window cam <<--------------------------------extra
  • Front hood
  • Cockpit
  • Inertia
  • Blimp
  • Chase
  • Side window
  • Door cam

From the list above you'll notice that in 'Replay mode' you'll get more cool view than you usually get in normal game play.  So how do we want to get the extra camera view available in your game play (when you riding your car/truck)?

Let's get started!....

  1. Go to your 4x4 EVO2 game folder (default directory: C:\Program Files\Terminal Reality\4x4 Evo2).
  2. Then go open the game sub folder 'SYSTEM' (default location: C:\Program Files\Terminal Reality\4x4 Evo2\system)
  3. Locate the file named 'Metal.ini' and use any text editor program such as NOTEPAD.exe or other program to open and edit the file.
  4. Locate for these value in your 'Metal.ini' file as shown below:

    Location of 'view' value parameter in 'Metal.ini' file

    .....................
    .....................
    conversionUnits=0
    overlay=1
    networkTutorialsOn=1
    lastView=2
    view3=2     <
    view2=9     <
    view1=5     <
    dash=1
    map=0
    finder=0
    handling=0.5
    autoShift=1
    torqueSplit=0.5
    brakeBalance=0.5
    suspensionTravel=0.5
    transferGear=0.5
    .....................
    .....................
  5. Once you've found the view assignment parameters you can change the view assignment by changing the camera value as listed in the table below: [Camera view angle table listing]
    Special Camera view listing (unlock extra view)
    View cam parameter value
    Race cam *cool 9
    Front suspension cam *cool 7
    Rear suspension cam *cool 8
    Rear window cam 13
    Font hood 10
    Chase 11
    Door cam 12
  6. Select any of the camera angle you wanted to use in the game and change the value in 'Metal.ini file under either one of the three view parameter [view1="value"][view2="value"] or [view3="value"]
  7. Credit:  thanks to member and friends from 4x4 evo2 forum specially to .... who pull out ideas on how make this view works. Thanks.
